Your morning,
sorted.

Every weekday, Claude reads your inbox and calendar before you wake up and hands you one page: what's on today, who's waiting on you, and the three things that matter most.

The setup

Five steps

  1. Get Claude on a paid plan

Go to claude.ai and sign up. Scheduled tasks need a paid plan (Pro or higher). The free plan can't run anything on a schedule.

  2. Connect Gmail and Google Calendar

In a new chat, click +, then Connectors, and turn on Gmail and Google Calendar. Sign in with your Google account and approve the permission screen.

On a work Google account, your admin may need to mark Claude as trusted first. Using Outlook? Connect Microsoft 365 instead; a work account needs admin approval.

  3. Copy the prompt

This is the whole brief. Change the time or the word count if you want.

Every weekday morning, build my Morning Brief from my Gmail and Google Calendar. Keep it under 250 words.

    1. TODAY: my calendar events in time order. One line each: time, what, where or link. Flag conflicts and back-to-back meetings with no break.

    2. WAITING ON ME: emails from the last 24 hours (on Monday, since Friday) that need a reply or a decision from me. Skip newsletters, receipts, promotions, and automated notifications. One line each: who, what they want, by when. Top 7, most urgent first.

    3. TOP 3: the three things that would make today a win, based on the above.

    4. DRAFTS: for the two most urgent emails, write a short reply in my voice and save it as a Gmail draft. Never send anything.

If something is unclear, say so in one line instead of guessing.

  4. Schedule it

Paste the prompt into a new chat and add one line:

Schedule this every weekday at 6:30 AM.

Claude shows you the name, the time, and the instructions. Check them and click Schedule. It runs in the cloud, so your laptop can be closed.

  5. Read it for a week, then tune it

The first few briefs will be too long or include things you don't care about. Don't quit; tell Claude what to change: "shorter," "skip anything from the school PTA," "put meetings with clients first." By Friday it reads like you wrote it.

Ground rules

Keep it safe

It drafts. You send. The prompt says never send. Claude also asks before sending email by default. Leave it that way.
Your account, your login.Connect your own email yourself. Never hand anyone your password, including me.
Read before you act. It's a summary. If something looks off, open the email itself.
